John Finkelmann is an associate attorney of the firm. He earned his law degree from Wayne State University in 2003 after graduating in 1999 from the University of Michigan, having received a degree in History. John also obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Wayne State University in 2010.

Upon graduating from law school, John worked for a large Detroit-based litigation firm focusing on insurance defense work. He then joined another firm in Rochester Hills for four years, and focused his practice on representing mortgage companies, gaining significant legal experience in bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, and foreclosure actions.

John joined Wegner Vollmer PC in 2008, and has focused his practice ever since on vigorously representing Condominium and Homeowner Associations. Amongst the many areas that John specializes in while representing these Associations are assessment collection, foreclosure litigation, bankruptcy, and general covenant enforcement. At Makower Abbate Guerra Wegner Vollmer PC, John continues to work stridently for the benefit of the firm’s clients. Having lived in a condominium, John has a significant understanding of the concerns and issues that frequently arise in community living, and uses that experience and knowledge to be a stronger advocate for the Associations represented by the firm. John has been a frequent speaker on community association issues at conferences for both the United Condominium Owners of Michigan and the Michigan Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.
